By the time you have made it into
the advanced class, you’ll have your goals for the
Flying Trapeze pretty well figured out. We will know your
flying intimately and will have a program worked out that
can best support your practice and, if you wish, your progress
into performance, team flying and teacher training. Advanced
flyers are mostly self-sufficient and therefore can take
the best advantage of fly time for improvement.
Once you have a good grasp of more technical
tricks such as the double somersault and the layout, you
may begin working twisting tricks such as the twisting layout
or the cutaway full. You will continue to work on gracefully
returning to the bar & board, and to build your repertoire
of maneuvers.
You will focus on achieving elegance and
strength throughout your flight and learning to embellish
your turns with technique and flare (as well as goodies
like single and double pirouette returns).
You will find that if you commit yourself
to this sport, your life will change and grow in many positive
ways. Your instructors are expert facilitators of this growth
and look forward to supporting you with faith and respect
though all levels of your learning.
